Rene Anthony Davis (RAD) — A brother from the ’hood,
intelligent, but street-smart (“'intellectual thug”),
self-made millionaire through inheritances and personal investments.
He is the middle child of three sons. Cynical, angry black
man because of numerous traumatic life experiences.
Rene received both his undergraduate degree (in Finance,
with a concentration in Corporate Finance), and his Executive
MBA from Stanford University School of Business. He is the
owner of several businesses, including a construction company,
a gentlemen’s entertainment club in Las Vegas and numerous
properties.
He loves Bridgette. But he’s convinced himself that
he doesn’t have time for a love relationship.
Bridgette Tate — She's “love weary” — she
wants one man (who isn't ready to settle down yet), so she's
about to settle for another man (her love/desire for him
is questionable), and there's another man who wants her,
but she doesn't want him. She's a successful attorney; comes
from a solid, upper/upper-middle class family background.
Bridgette attended the University of Chicago, where she
received an undergraduate degree in Social Work, and a Juris
Doctor (J.D.) degree in Domestic Law. Her kind and humble
spirit motivates her to volunteer her time and skills at
a shelter for abused women that is operated by one of her
friends from high school.
Larry Anderson — DEA/detective; has known Rene and
Bridgette since high school. Used to hang with Rene and now
works for Rene protecting Bridgette. Larry attended Chicago
State University and received a Bachelors degree in Criminal
Justice. He worked as a Corrections Officer with the Illinois
Department of Corrections for three years. He then became
an agent with DEA.
Larry also pursued a career as a professional boxer after
he graduated from high school.
Kevon McMillan II — Bridgette's “replacement” man
(for Rene). He wants to marry Bridgette, but he senses that
she may still have feelings for Rene. Kevon is determined
to convince her that he is a better man for her than Rene
could ever be.
Kevon comes from a stable, upper class background. His father
has his own law firm, as well as other businesses. He has
an undergraduate degree in Banking and Finance, and a Juris
Doctor (J.D.) degree — both from the University of
Chicago. His specialty is corporate law, specifically acquisitions
and mergers.
