Conrad Prophet Biography

Through his personal experiences growing up in an urban environment, as well as the experiences he gained through various educational and employment opportunities, Conrad Prophet is motivated to share his knowledge and individual perspective, with the hope of preparing young people for adulthood and the trials that accompany it, while helping them to avoid the pitfalls and problems he encountered. Determination, desire, and much sacrifice resulted in his first novel, Last Year Before Reality, a work of fiction that he self-published in 2001.

Feeling a sense of accomplishment from completing his first book, Conrad still had a strong urge to convey some of the life lessons he learned as he matured and was forced to deal with the realities that came with striving to be an educated and independent man in America. Compelled to compose an ‘instruction manual’ that would provide guidance and insight into how to develop the necessary skills to survive in various areas, such as private and government employment, self-employment, higher education, and even the U.S. Armed Services, Prophet effectively self-published his second novel, Knowing the Rules of the Game, in 2004. Both of Prophet’s books have been well-received in the community, which has provided him with the opportunity to facilitate discussion groups and seminars in local high schools, libraries and churches. He has been a featured speaker with book clubs in his home state of Michigan, as well through writers’ conferences, workshops and roundtable discussions in Indiana, Texas, Arizona and Georgia.

Prophet has an almost insatiable passion to write and share knowledge. In 2007, he decided to devote more time and attention to his writing career. He had Last Year Before Reality masterfully re-edited to appeal to adult readers, and then he began working on No Time For Love, the sequel to Last Year Before Reality. No Time For Love is a wildly imaginative page-turner also written with the adult reader in mind. It received a five-star rating from Rawsistaz.com, and rave reviews from all who have read it.

Conrad released his fourth novel, Behind The Broken Cross in December 2008. It offers an interesting perspective on how drastically the Black church has changed and become corrupt in recent years. This book has also received excellent reviews, and was featured in the April 2009 issue of Essence magazine as the current reading choice of the Sistas Turning Pages Book Club in Lansing, Michigan.

Conrad is currently working on his next novel, which is scheduled to be released in 2010. And rest assured - he will continue to deliver to his audience more of the same entertaining and thought-provoking action that will always leave you wanting more!

Conrad Prophet was raised in Royal Oak Township, Michigan, and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1982. After graduating, he served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Fulda and Frankfurt, Germany. In 1991, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saginaw Valley State University.
